After entering three of the sections for photographer of the year competition, I was selected as 18th in the September edition theme, movement. Eighteenth may not seem so good, but with thousands of entries every month, I was more than pleased. Below is my winning entry along with a second entry they did not place (pity, I think it's better!).

I took this picture while astride a wooden break-water at St. Bees in Cumbria, July 2000. I used a slow shutter (1/15th) to capture a blur in the water as it came into the frame. Camera: Mamiya7, 150mm lens Film: Velvia (of course!) |

I really liked this colour infra-red image which was taken in Sheffield. The green ferns have changed to red and the merky water an etherial green. I am taking more infra-red pictures as I get better at judging exposure. Camera: Mamiya7 with panoramic adapter. Lens: 43mm Film: Kodak EIR High speed colour Infra-red. |
